GH: Aerosmith with Rock Band guitars

Activision said they put out a patch to allow Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to play with the Rock Band Stratocaster. There had been inconsistent reports of this being possible.

Also, this is again for ONLY the Xbox 360.

World Tour will work with RB instruments

Confirmed that Guitar Hero: World Tour will work with 3rd party instruments, even Rock Band's existing instruments.

Not confirmed is Rock Band 2's instruments.

Oh yeah.

This is only confirmed for the Xbox 360.

Guitar Hero: On Tour .... Decades

E3 had a lot of little things and here's one that made it through the media filters. Activision is going to begin work on a sequel to the DS's Guitar Hero: On Tour.

Details are still sketchy, here's what they'll tell people so far:

A song sharing feature. People with On Tour would be able to sample Decades songs this way.
Something about a microphone.

In what is probably the first in a long line of simultaneous releases. Metallica's next album will be released as downloadable content for GH III and GH WT the same day the album is available to buy in stores.

FREE DLC!!!

GHIII got a FREE DLC of the Top Gun Anthem on July 3rd

(yeh I'm late)

Don't know if its still free.

GH: WT notes

The guys over at Joystiq got to visit Activision and check out some of the preliminary GH: WT stuff. Here's a few things I gathered from their visit:

The new drum set will be wireless!.

Old Guitar Hero guitars (Red Octane) will work with GH: WT.

Microphone has some weight added to it to make it feel more like a real mic and not a plastic toy USB one.

Microphone will not be wireless. Not enough time.

Character creator has custom face paint and a tattoo creator, add signature moves.

Create a guitar will also let you customize the drum set and mic.

Career mode isn't linear anymore.

The slider will tweak notes far better than the whammy bar, distorting the sound instead of adjusting the pitch. There's clear notes where you have to where you tap the slider and places where you have to "catch" the note with your fingers on the slider.

Confirmed songs: Sublime "Santeria", Billy Idol "Rebel Yell", and Foo Fighters "Everlong."

"Beginner" mode where you only have to strum. The kids can finally keep up with dear old dad.

GH3: Don't Fear the Reaper and other songs

Hello! New here. Was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I recently bought Guitar Hero 3 (for PS3) for my sister's birthday... and I'm like addicted to it like no other. It sucks because I play it instead of doing my homework. haha.

Anyways, I was told that  "Don't Fear teh Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult is on GH3 and I've been playing like a mad man to get the song. I've completed the "Easy" level (career mode), and am currently working on "medium."

So my questions to you guys are:

1. Is "Don't Fear the Reaper" on GH3?

2. How do I get the other availabe songs for each level (in career mode)? It says 30 out of 42 songs (or some thing like that... I can't remember the exact numbers).

3. I tried putting in the code for "Unlockable: All Songs (Quick Play Mode)" and the other codes as well, but nothing happens. What do I need to do to get all the songs and get the cheats to work?

P.S: I got the codes here: http://cheats.ign.com/ob2/068/858/858010.html

troubleshooting

Hey, just joined as I have a question. The basics:

- Just bought GH3 bundle pack for the PS2 with the wireless controller. Took about 3 seconds to get addicted.
- Wanted to be able to do duets and player vs. player, so I went to a local bookstore and picked up a used wired controller. Works fine, no problems there.

The problem: We wanted to be able to play a larger selection of music, so today I ran over to Target and bought Guitar Hero 2. But the game does not recognize 3 of the 5 fret buttons on either controller, meaning that during game play, only the blue and orange buttons work. I put GH3 back into the system and they work fine, both the GH3 wireless and the used wired controller.

Anyone have ideas what's going on?
